Typical to many cities in Mexico, Oaxaca has several plazas around the city. This one is actually adjacent to the Zocalo (the traditional main city square). The main cathedral is behind us and the Zocalo is to our left. It is quite typical for many vendors to gather in these plazas to sell many items for tourist and local folks. We also found, as in Guadalajara, many people selling religious paraphernalia. Are we alone with feeling uneasy about this? It certainly is colorful with all these vendors in the plazas of Mexico.
